'Time for an 'angelic' little story…' case study by G Design and Advertising Sheffield

'Time for an 'angelic' little story…'

GDA returned to school recently as the Sheffield brand management agency turned its hand to the production of an impressive collection of educational books marketed towards Primary schools.

The series of books, consisting of 28 individual stories all beautifully written by Angel Creative entrepreneur, Ruth Vidler, have been specifically developed to meet the Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning (SEAL) curriculum themes, as set by the Department for Children, Schools and Families.

Tackling sensitive topics such as low self-esteem, problems at home and racism, as well as school objectives such as growth, friendships, feelings and emotions, the books serve as an excellent resource which enables teachers to address difficult subjects in a fun and easy to understand way.

Ruth Vidler comments: 'as "grown-ups" it is our responsibility to present information to children in an enjoyable way, so they listen, absorb and remember it in the future. Each book is written with the child firmly in mind, which is why they are so colourful and great fun to listen to.'

Utilising vibrant colour illustrations, GDA were tasked with formatting each book into a series of 4 colour-coded sets entitled: 'Learning is Fun', 'Feelings & Emotions', 'Special & Social Needs' and 'Reading is Fun', together with organisation of the books' glossy, high-specification print.

We think that Primary Schools are in for a real treat with these exceptionally special and 'angelic' little stories!
