'Unirider' Campaign Set to Save £££'s for Students! case study by G Design and Advertising Sheffield

'Unirider' Campaign Set to Save £££'s for Students!

GDA arrived exactly on time and to budget when Stagecoach Yorkshire were in need of some creative expertise to help promote their new 'Unirider 91p per day unlimited student travel' promotion. Available exclusively to Sheffield Students, the Unirider ticket can be used on both the Stagecoach bus and Supertram travel networks.

Running a fleet of around 7,000 buses and coaches in over 100 towns and cities across the UK, Stagecoach is one of the largest travel operators in the country. Intending to boost its profile within Sheffield and increase students' awareness of ways to save '£££'s' in today's hard financial times, GDA once again rose to the creative challenge!

Unlike in previous years where Stagecoach's Student Campaign targeted only new in-take students, the aim this year was to step-up on external marketing communications in order to build a firm presence and loyal relationship with all students. Attention-grabbing 48 Sheet Advertisements will soon be positioned in key locations around the city centre, with colourful bus branding expounding the core 'buy online now' message.

The imminent Student Freshers Fairs again provide the ideal opportunity to target our young audience with the promise of winning some goodies that no student should ever do without! GDA have devised a brand new 'Scratch & Win' competition for 2009, offering students the chance of winning one year's free travel with Stagecoach Sheffield; a Nintendo DS Lite; a USB Memory Stick and runners-up 'Lucky Dip' prizes. Complementing an enticingly designed exhibition stand are vibrant pop-up banners and striking promotional leaflets and posters.

Mark Dale at GDA comments: "This is only one of the many on-going projects on which GDA work with Stagecoach Sheffield marketing department.
Last year's 50p Student Travel promotion (to run again this year) proved a huge success and the 2009 campaign is ensured to be even more popular amongst Sheffield's student population. Our ultimate aim is to encourage students to choose Stagecoach Sheffield over any other travel operator and to retain that loyalty for the duration of their university experience."
