GDA 'WALK AS ONE' With Cancer Charity! case study by G Design and Advertising Sheffield

GDA 'WALK AS ONE' With Cancer Charity!

As part of our ongoing support and commitment to Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity, GDA has taken 'positive steps for 2009' having created a distinctive new name and brand identity for the 'Think Pink' Sponsored Walk.

Following the Charity's brief to re-brand their annual Autumnal event with a more family-orientated theme, GDA responded in the usual enthusiastic fashion, devising the innovative 'Walk as One' identity and strategic promotional marketing campaign.

The new concept has been designed specifically to engage with a much wider audience than the aforementioned 'Think Pink' event. Due to the campaign's nature (raising funds for women with cancer) the imbued feminine overtones of the former brand was successful, only in so far as the predominantly female support it generated. Male potential participants tended to mistake this event as a no-go area for them - an impression the Charity was eager to dispel.

'Walk as One', with its universal 'foot-steps' logo, works in complete harmony with the new WPHCC brand style that was introduced to the public in September 2008. The 'foot-steps' motif, once again uniting the warm and familiar colours of the Charity's own identity, achieves an easy synergy between brands. Whilst visually it can be instantly associated with Weston Park, it also conveys a lively independence that will appeal to individuals, families and corporate institutions alike.

A strategic high-impact marketing campaign, to promote early registrants and a healthy degree of corporate sponsorship, accompanied the re-brand project and will be led and implemented by GDA over the coming months.
